Production

Sloten products contain high quality dairy protein and lactose originating from the dairy industry. Raw material producers must therefore meet our strict quality standards if they are to become our supplier.

Unique fat combination

All applied fat sources are specially selected to provide the essential short chain fatty acids and unsaturated fatty acids. Both properties have proven increased fat digestibility. Sloten developed a unique combination of fats for different animal species to meet the requirements of the specific young animal.

Spray-drying

Our products are manufactured according to our own formulae. Carefully selected raw materials are delivered to the production plant in Sloten (in the Province of Friesland). There, they are processed into semi-finished products using a fully automated spray-drying process.

This process involves:
  • mixing of the raw materials in liquid form
  • pasteurisation
  • homogenisation
  • spray-drying
As the mixture is dried in the spraying towers, the micronised fat globules are entirely encapsulated by dairy products.
The result is a product with a consistent composition and optimum fat distribution. One that is easily soluble and digestible. This process is the key to the quality of our products. Following this process, the spray-dried milk fat concentrates are transported to the Deventer production plant where they are processed into the end-products Sprayfo, Spraymes and Nuklospray.

Our manufacturing processes comply with our quality standards.

Production takes place in two plants:

Liquid milk products and liquid fats are mixed, pasteurised (at a temperature of 70°C for at least 15 seconds) and homogenised. Following homogenisation, the mixture is spray-dried.
A spray-dried milk fat concentrate is produced, which is stored in silos and then transported to the Deventer plant.

Here, the spray-dried milk fat concentrate is mixed with other raw materials such as skim milk powder, whey powder, vitamins and minerals in order to obtain the final young animal feed product. Dosage of the ingredients is computer-controlled through a closed system of silos and weighing belts. After dosing, the ingredients are transported to a mixer where a homogeneous mixture is crated. This mixture is then packed by five automatic bagging machines into strong paper bags, fitted with a polyethylene inner bag.
