On 25 and 26 June a two-day meeting with Sloten key distributors took place in Zandvoort, the Netherlands.
The goal of this meeting was to exchange market experiences and learn from the approaches of the different Sloten distributors.
Also empowering partnership was on the agenda.
Thursday 25 June
The first day was to discuss different market circumstances, effects of the financial crisis, global activity within the dairy industry, sales and marketing developments. With prepared formats we created insight in shared issues, market challenges and the importance of good local market information.
Friday 26 June
On the second day all participants made a presentation on how to proceed from market approach to sales actions.
From these presentations it became clear what the Sloten support should include, how important it is to share successes and to openly give feedback to the whole group.
For instance, sales actions need to be concreted, with deadlines and evaluation. The marketing support needs to be easy to translate and ready for use, as a clear set of tools.

Distributor agreement
During its 50th anniversary in 2008 Sloten promoted the theme “Working together to create future success”.
Therefore, defining partnership was one of the important elements of this meeting as well.
The fruitful and challenging meeting also created a good opportunity for Mr Miguel Ángel Sombrero
from NACOOP Spain and Sloten Managing Director Mr Willem Kernkamp to sign a renewed distributor agreement.

The intensive programme and interaction of these two days were highly valued by the present distributors.
First results of the action plans will become clear after summer.
